With Google making the somewhat controversial decision to move away from wireless charging (seriously, what the heck is up what that?), it’s always refreshing to see some OEMs offering the convenient charging method in their flagship devices. Despite the recently announced LG V10 not coming out of the box with wireless charging, it seems LG will be going to same route they did with the LG G4.
According to Korean outlet ET News, LG will make available a special wireless charging back cover shortly after the device launches here in the states. The cover — which carries the model number “CPR-120” — was recently spotted recently making a stop by the Wireless Power Consortium. That means once attached, the LG V10 will be compatible with any Qi enabled wireless charger, giving users an alternate method of charging without the hassle of figuring which way to turn to their micro USB cable.
The LG V10 officially arrives on T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon in the coming weeks, so be on the look out for the official wireless charging back covers around that time if not a few weeks later. As for pricing, that wasn’t mention but don’t expect it to come cheap.
