[VIDEO] Square Enix shows off first gameplay for Final Fantasy 9 on mobile, looks pretty damn fantastic

It was the last Final Fantasy title to ever launch on the original PlayStation (PS One) and arguably one of the best in the series. For RPG fans that missed out (I, myself, had already transitioned on over to the PS2 at this point), Final Fantasy IX (9) will soon be available on mobile. Square Enix actually revealed the news right before the the turn of the New Year, but it was only accompanied by a short trailer.

Earlier today, they showed off some actual gameplay during the “Square Enix Presents” live stream, playing though the first few minutes of the game. The best part, at least to us, is the higher resolution polys and smoothed out textures. Believe us when we say, the original graphics from the original PlayStation version have not aged well. New additions also include auto-save, high-speed mode, achievements, and the benefits of much quicker load times (as shown in the gameplay video).

Despite the game being complete, still no specific launch date has been given although according to the roughly translated Japanese, “soon future delivery for the iOS / Android!” was provided in the video description. Sounds great to us, but keep in mind that’s the initial Japanese release. Who knows how much longer it will take before this is localized and lands in US app stores like Google Play. Now when can we expect FF 7 and 8?

DOWNLOAD: Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes is now available for Android

In case you haven’t heard, Star Wars has a hot new game that’s now available on Google Play. It’s Galaxy of Heroes, a card game where you collect Star Wars characters to use in various turn-based battles and missions. The game features characters that span the entirety of the Star Wars timeline and universe, including the original trilogy, the prequel trilogy, the animated series and even new characters from the upcoming 7th episode titled The Force Awakens.

Every card and character have unique abilities and attributes, and some even synergize with other cards to incentivize collecting. You can train your cards to get more powerful, to boot, so the more you play the stronger your heroes are.

The collectible card genre has exploded in recent years, so we aren’t surprised to see Disney and LucasArts take another stab at it. We say “another” because the company actually had a similar game back in 2014 named Star Wars Assault. It was a pretty fun game then, but for some unknown reason it had been removed from Google Play.

Now we know why — Galaxy of Heroes looks even better, and to have all the content from every era of Star Wars is a pretty big deal on its own. Watch the trailer above to see what it’s all about, then go ahead and download it for free from Google Play if you like what you see.

Angry Birds 2 game available for Android (video)

Angry Birds 2 game can now be downloaded on the Android platform. The official sequel to the first game of Angry Birds contains superior graphics, the levels of several stages and new bosses.
There is also plenty of new types of birds that can be used throughout the game. Early reviews of the game show that the new title is quite similar to the original Angry Birds game, but different enough to make sense of the new game.

If you are not the type of player who likes to stall, Angry Birds 2 comes with a fast-forward function that allows you to skip the final sequence at the end of each round. Angry Birds 2 game is free to download at the Android Market, but it should be noted that the game comes with the option to purchase within the application.

Vainglory, the best MOBA game for Android (Video)

If you like League of Legends or DOTA2 games, this is a game that will blow your mind.

As in any MOBA game you have heroes who are progressing, teams working together toward a common goal. Vainglory valid for MOBA game that is best adapted for the touch screen. And with good reason, but of course, such quality has a price in the form of 547 MB for installation and application Android 4.4 or higher. Was rated at 4.2 stars and of course free to play.
