The Samsung Galaxy Note 6 might have 6GB of RAM, but will it even need that much?

Well, how’s this for a rumor. A leakster from Weibo is suggesting Samsung is planning to toss 6GB of RAM inside the Samsung Galaxy Note 6. It’s such an absurd number that we won’t blame you for completely disregarding the rumor (Samsung did tease the possibility of 6GB DRAM modules for mobile devices in a recent breakthrough, for what it’s worth).

But let’s talk it out real quick: does a phone even need that much? Well, that depends. Most phones don’t, but let’s be real — this is Samsung. This is the same company whose 3GB of RAM phones from 201 were having issues because their software is incredibly bloated and they couldn’t settle an ongoing memory management issue.

Granted, that issue seems to have been addressed as of their Android 6.0 Marshmallow firmware, but the point remains: Samsung phones are memory hungry. That said, they shouldn’t be so hungry that anything more than 4GB of RAM is necessary. The only exception we’d make is if Samsung is planning to do something radically different with their software for the Note lineup, but considering most actual computers don’t need more than 8GB of RAM for heavy-lifting we can’t begin to imagine what Samsung could want to do to need that much.

Here are some other details (which are a lot more believable) from the leakster:
5.8-inch 2560 x Super AMOLED display
12MP Super OIS camera
S-Pen
64GB / 128GB of storage

We wouldn’t put it past Samsung to try and stretch the bar everywhere they can for the Note 6 as it’s something they’ve historically done, but we aren’t so ready to believe they’ll go as crazy as putting 6GB of RAM inside the thing just yet. Let’s wait to see how this story unfolds as the year goes on.

ZeroLemon’s insane 8,500mAh battery cases now available for Galaxy S6 Edge Plus and Galaxy Note 5

It was back in July that accessory maker ZeroLemon — known for the extended battery cases for popular Android devices — released a 3,500mAh battery case for the Samsung Galaxy S6. It’s been a long time since then, but it seems the manufacturer is finally ready to bring their extremely hefty 8,500mAh model (the one that made the LG G4 look like a giant brick) to the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus and Samsung Galaxy Note 5. Sure these phones have been out since last August, but better late than never.

They’re retailing for about $60 each and don’t look half bad considering they’ll more than triple the thickness of your device. We don’t imagine anyone would use something like these every day, but for those cases where you know you’ll be away from the charger all day (or weekend), these ZeroLemon cases could be a godsend. Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will reportedly launch in Europe early next year

It was a strange turn of events back in August when Samsung first announced the impending release of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 for US and other regions. While the S6 Edge+ was headed to the 4 corners of the globe, they oddly left out any word on a European release for the Note 5. Not long after that, the official word was that Samsung didn’t have any plans to launch the Note 5 in Europe, at least not in 2015. While that always meant 2016 was still a possibility, we didn’t want to get our hopes up.
In a new report from Gadgette, it seems the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ will soon be joined by its S Pen toting brother early next year. That’s when the Galaxy Note 5 is expected to launch in the UK as early as January. Of course, exact pricing and availability remains to be seen, but if you’ve been holding out on picking up the Edge+ in hopes of Samsung coming to their sense and giving you the Note 5 — you may not have to wait much longer.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 now includes a warning label to show how to insert the S-Pen

The big roar made over Samsung’s S-Pen design flaw (where it could get stuck and break the S-Pen detection sensor) was brushed off by a simple “read the manual” response, but that doesn’t mean Samsung isn’t going to take preventative measures. While the company maintains that the phone is designed just fine, they’re making sure owners know exactly how the S-Pen should be inserted into its holding bay.

The company is now including a warning on the label that is wrapped around the phone when you first take it out of its package. It’s something that should be common knowledge — the tip of the pen goes in first, just as you might naturally do on some notebooks with a pen holder.

This warning was actually in the user manual (you know, that thing that no one ever reads but swears they did when they call technical support) when the phone launched, but having it up front and center should hopefully cut down on S-Pen incidents. And if you are still unfortunate enough to mess it up, be sure to take a look at some alternate steps to recovery before you yank the thing out and break it.

Leaked roadmap shows Samsung devices getting Android Marshmallow in December

Android Marshmallow is still trickling out to devices. The roll-out has been slow, but more and more devices are getting a taste of Marshmallow every day. A leaked document suggests that Samsung will start updating their top devices very soon. According to the chart, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 andSamsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will get Marshmallow next month.

In the following month (January), the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge will get the update, followed by the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Samsung Galaxy Note Edge in February. TheSamsung Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Alpha are listed in the “Phase 1” roll-out, but still waiting for approval.

“Phase 2” of the roll-out includes a bunch of older and less popular devices, like the Galaxy A8, A7, A5, A3, E7, and E5. These devices will likely be looking at Q2 of 2016 before they get updated. The good news is Samsung will be updating their top devices in the next couple of months. We would like to see the Galaxy S6 be included in the first month, but January is better than nothing.

New rumor claims that the Samsung Galaxy Note5 will land in Europe as early as January 2016

According to a new rumor, Samsung will launch the Galaxy Note5 in Europe as early as January 2016.

A couple of months ago when Samsung officially unveiled the Galaxy Note5, the company brought bad news for potential customers in Europe. Probably looking for a more in-focus promotional campaign for the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+, the manufacturer decided not to launch the Galaxy Note5 in Europe, much to the dismay of long-time fans of the supersized Galaxy Note series.

While some customers have already turned to alternative solutions, such as importing a dual-SIM model from Asia through various channels, this path may lead to a painful warranty administration process and carrier compatibility problems.

As it turns out, however, it looks like Samsung's ban on the Galaxy Note5 in Europe might not be definitive. According to a Romanian tech blog, Samsung will launch the Galaxy Note5 in Europe as early as January 2016. This would be an interesting timing given that the December holiday shopping season a huge driver for smartphone sales.

The blog quotes unofficial sources close to Samsung's Romanian branch. Since this report is not joined by any sort hard evidence, make sure to digest this info with a dose of cold hard skepticism.

Here’s a full list of Samsung Galaxy phones which might get Android 6.0 Marshmallow

It’s almost a given that Samsung will look to load their best devices up with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but the company hasn’t come out with exact plans to make that happen. Well, we won’t have to wait for their word to get an idea as SamMobile has uncovered a full list of deviceswhich will receive the update.
The list you see below is pretty unsurprising. The European international model and all major US carrier models of the phones below are scheduled to receive it, including those on T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, AT&T, US Cellular and Canadian carriers. You can also expect Korean models of these phones — including the LTE-A models — to receive it.

There are a few other odd exceptions on the list, as noted by the asterisks next to their names. Verizon seems to be the only carrier to be getting the upgrade on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Samsung Galaxy Note Edge. The Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo in Europe is also on the list. We’re not sure why other carrier models of last year’s Note devices wouldn’t be on the list, but it’s important to note that these plans are only preliminary, and Samsung could be planning to add more by the time it’s all said and done.

Nothing’s official, so there’s not much reason to get happy or said either way. Sit back, and let’s wait on Samsung’s official word before making any further conclusions about what they’ll look to do.

Samsung Galaxy Note5, S6, S6 edge and S6 edge+ might soon get a major update - Android 6.0?

With Google getting ready to launch Android 6.0  as soon as next week - when two new Nexus smartphones are expected to make their official debut - major Android handset makers are likely already planning updates to the latest version of the OS.
Or at least this seems to be the case with Samsung.

According to SamMobile, Samsung is currently working on a "major" software update for its Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy S6 edge+, and Galaxy Note5. Since all four handsets already run Android Lollipop, this major update will probably bring Android 6.0 Marshmallow to all of them (though for now SamMobile can't confirm this). Of course, the update might also be related to changes that won't necessarily bring Android 6.0, though it makes sense for us to expect all of Samsung's latest high-end smartphones to get Marshmallow sometime soon.

In related news, it's said that the Galaxy Note 4 will also be updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which isn't exactly surprising. It's not clear if the Note 4 will get Marshmallow at the same time with the newer high-end Galaxies, but let's wait and see what happens, okay?

Who is faster Galaxy Note 5 or iPhone 6? Speed Test (VIDEO)

The hottest topics in the blogosphere remains Galaxy Note 5 from Samsung. Since this is the last part of the techniques and extremely powerful, it is understandable that everyone wants to face the competition. Here is the test speed Galaxy Note 5 is compared against a year old iPhone 6. What is faster?

The other day we saw a comparative test speed the Note 5, LG G4 and new OnePlus 2, and today is published, they would even crazier test Galaxy Note 5 and iPhone 6, which will be for less than two weeks to inherit the new iPhone 6S.

You probably know that the Galaxy Note 5 launches octa-core Exynos chip with 4 GB of RAM and Mali-T760MP8 graphics. iPhone 6 on the other hand launches dual-core A8 chip with only 1 GB of RAM and a PowerVR graphics GX6450. They would say that it is clear which of the two devices will win the speed test. Watch video.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 may malfunction with his OWN S Pen (VIDEO)

The first users of Samsung Galaxy Note 5, the various reviewers, they found a nasty flaw in the design of the new S Pen, because you may permanently damage the device. See video

Unlike previous models, the S Pen stylus can be inserted in its place on the wrong side, or tipped out prev. It turned out that such a move destroys the mechanism that accepts and releases the S Pen.

Truly amazing that no one at Samsung has not tested anything like this before the device is released to the market because they boast of their testing devices before delivery.

According to the information placed the site AndroidPolice, Samsung's new premium phones for resources it consumes TouchWiz too aggressively kill background apps, and despite having 4 GB of memory, multitasking them bad. Probably it's not just TouchWiz than listed phones are too small battery for powerful chipset and the screen of QHD resolution that is in them, who spend too much battery, so very aggressively shutting down applications from which you came out.

This information was given in the confirmation test of speed Note 5 against OnePlus Two against G4, which we announced a few days ago, and also in the video that we bring in the video where the Galaxy S6 Edge facing Nexus 6, which has a slower processor and less memory.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 review (VIDEO)

Samsung's Note line of phones has always been about three things: a huge screen, outsized performance, and a stylus. But now, with the Galaxy Note 5, two of those three things are not so special anymore.
Every Android phone is big now, and almost all of those big phones are fast and powerful. And more than any of them, Apple's iPhone 6 has been eroding Nokia's claim to phablet dominance. The rest of the world caught up with the Galaxy Note.

Fighting all of that was always going to be an uphill struggle, so something had to change. To its credit, Samsung did just that. The new Note is different: It's a beautifully designed object that feels like it belongs to the same family as the other Galaxy phones. If you can not beat 'em with power and size, try to beat' em with design.

Galaxy Note 5 and S6 edge + are great on the test battery

The new Samsung Galaxy 5 and Galaxy S6 edge + have integrated battery capacity of 3000 mAh and many are wondering what kind of autonomy they have. There seems no reason to worry.

Portal PhoneArena has conducted initial testing battery Galaxy Note and Galaxy 5 S6 edge +, and the results are excellent. While Note 5 has a smaller battery compared to its predecessor, the test results showed that he has a better autonomy of Note 4 but most competing devices on the market. The best on the test proved to be a close relative of their Galaxy S6 Active.

Galaxy S6 edge + has the same 3000 mAh battery, but it turned out to have a little something greater autonomy in relation to the notes fifth difference is about 20 minutes of mixed use, but still looking forward to the soul.

Although the reliability of such synthetic tests, we can debate, keep in mind that PhoneArena same test applied to all of the drives and the comparison between them is indicative.

New Galaxy 5 and Galaxy S6 edge + real champions are and where the shorter the better - lasting charging. From 0 1- 100% Galaxy S6 edge + needs 80 minutes charger, and notes only 5 minutes more. And it's a great result, especially if you compare it with the Xperia Z 3, which for the same tenders, should be even 235 minutes.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 drop test (VIDEO)

We know that Samsung has no plans to bring the Galaxy Note5 in Europe and in many other markets, the phone has not a microSD card slot, has a battery that can not be replaced.

However, it appears that endurance is not on the list of negative characteristics that go with this fable. Website PhoneBuff subjected Galaxy Note5 drop tests and discovered that it takes more than a couple of discharging phone on the concrete, in order to destroy the device.

With the help of professional and 100% impartial drop test machines, PhoneBuff is emitted Galaxy Note5 the front and the back, as well as pages from a height of one meter. As expected, the back of the display and the phone were damaged early in the test. On the other hand, the aluminum frame is not shown almost no effect of contact with a hard surface, which is certainly good news for potential buyers of this phone.

It took six simulation falls to fablet completely destroyed. Of course, it is recommended that the Samsung Galaxy Note5 procurement protective case, because I do not want that in moments of awkwardness destroyed 700 dollar device.

Galaxy Note 5 this year will not be supplied to Europe

Now that Samsung has finally unveiled the new Galaxy 5 and Galaxy S6 + edge, we were hoping to break from the news and rumors related to the two devices, but it is not over yet. The Galaxy 5 is not going to the European market this year. Shock and disbelief, they would say.

Last night was subsequently reported that although the Galaxy 5 in the US market in sales by the end of this month, Europeans will be a long wait. For unknown reasons, except for some tactical, Samsung in Europe does not intend to offer the Galaxy Note 5 to the end of this year. In Europe will soon get his brother Galaxy S6 + edge, but not the Galaxy Note5.

Although these are two very similar devices, at least in terms of specifications, I believe that this news will irritate many of you, because S6 + edge sounds and looks very nice but doesn't have  the famous S Pen as Note5.

Although not explicitly confirmed, the Galaxy will probably in this area still occur, but if this happens there will be before the start of 2016.

What Samsung is trying to achieve with this move now is not clear.

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2015: formalized and sleek Galaxy Note5 (VIDEO/PHOTO)

Samsung has today, on its Galaxy Unpacked 2015 event introduced two new Fable - Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy Note5. Update Galaxy Note5 is probably the most harmonious and obviously the strongest notes so far, and what is visible - is the most elegant.

Samsung Galaxy Note5 comes with Samsung's eight-core Exynos 7420 chip 14Nm (four cores at 2.1GHz + four cores at 1.5GHz) with 4GB of RAM. For software support is in charge of Android 5.1, which comes through the TouchWiz user interface. The screen is Super AMOLED Fable of 5.7 inches and with Quad HD resolution (2560 x 1440p, 518ppi). There is a camera of 16MP on the back (with the ability to stream a live video on YouTube when the optical image stabilization), as well as the front camera of 5MP. Warehouse building basic model includes 32GB. There will be a version with 64GB of storage, and both models will have a quick UFS 2.0 warehouse. The phone battery has a capacity of 3000mAh.

Unfortunately, Samsung is due to the use of more premium materials preparation (metal and glass), he had to sacrifice a few important safety feature: Note5 there is no support for microSD card comes with a battery that can not be changed and no protection against dust and liquids.

However, there is more to the trademark Note series, which is the STYLUS-located in the lower right corner of the phone, and it is enough for him just a little push and he himself will be "ejected" from its slot. Although it is a finesse, this system makes it easier to use the smart pen. The dimensions are 153.2 x 76.1 x 7.6mm and weighs 171 grams.

Samsung Galaxy Note5 is available to order from today and comes in black, white, silver and gold version. Price Fable been officially announced during the presentation.

Galaxy S6 + edge may have a supplement in the form of a QWERTY keyboard

Samsung Galaxy S5 Edge together with Note 5 to be launched next Thursday.

And while that Thursday, @evleak Twitter account brings a photo of an unusual extra for S6 Edge. It is a physical QWERTY keyboard as can be found on BlackBerry phones. It seems that the addition of just slid over the lower edge S6 + and then you have a QWERTY keyboard for your S6 Edge.

It remains to be seen of course whether this is a real product, and that you will have this kind of Note 5 supplement.
