Oukitel K6000’s 6,000mAh battery goes from 0 to 100% in under 2 hours [VIDEO]

Haven’t heard of the Oukitel K6000 yet? It’s a 5.5-inch device with a 64-bit quad-core MediaTek chipset, a 13 megapixel camera and 2GB of RAM. But the headline spec of the device is its massive 6,000mAh battery, something Oukitel managed to achieve by stuffing 2 3,000mAh units inside.

It must take an eternity to charge such a fat pack, no? Well… it doesn’t. The company took to YouTube with a video showing how fast it charges thanks to its included 9v/2a charger. The device was able to go from near death to 100% juice in just under 2 hours. For comparison’s sake, a 5v/1a or 5v/2a charger like the ones included with the iPhone were only able to get it up to 29% in that same time span.

Fast charging is nothing new, of course. We’ve seen it featured in many top devices, including the latest Nexus handsets, Samsung’s flagships and even some mid-range 2015 options thanks to Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0. But for a phone with 6,000mAh battery, it’s really impressive. And when you consider you could go a few days without charging the thing, we’d say a 2 hour wait time for full capacity is very, very reasonable.

Couple all of that with the fact that 5 minutes of charging can deliver up to 2 hours of talk time, and you can see why the device is getting so much attention. Unfortunately we’re still not sure when, exactly, you’ll be able to get your hands on the Oukitel K6000, but if a big battery is your concern then the wait should be well worth it.
